In martial arts the most ancient fighting style is Jiu-Jitsu. It is also known to be an art of self defense. For instance, pulling of the hair, biting, hitting the groin of an opponent, twisting the fingers, using the fingers to stick in the nose or eyes of an opponent or whichever move that will make a person to gain unjust advantage with application of the one’s fists, feet, elbow or the head. The lifeline of the sport is the competitions; in fact this is one of the most vital aspects for every person that may be involved directly or indirectly in the sport.

In competitions you are awarded points, four for mount and rear mount position, and three for knee on belly or passing the guard, two for a sweep reversing your opponent or two for a takedown or a throw. Through these common rules Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has spread like wildfire acrossed the world.
With these rules and the point system in place Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a fun and safety are guaranteed. And with so many countries practicing and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the sport hopes to become part of the Olympics.
